Practicing Technique

This is something that I really rarely had a chance to do last year as I was always sick and exhausted and the sound would just come out nasal and weak no matter what I’d do.

So I’m planning on using this year to really develop my voice so that hopefully I will have an advantage over the people that will be in my class next year.

Today I was particularly trying to engage ‘fannyland’ as Jan calls it. Up until now I understood the concept of it but the reality of it just wasn’t working for me. At this moment in time I still get surprised by the clarity and strength of my voice when properly warmed up, hydrated, and focusing on fannyland, anchoring, and pronunciation. I need to continue to practice this as it will become natural and it will make singing easier once it becomes muscle memory.
